The Origins

Of Freemasonry

The date of Freemasonry cannot be defined with certainty if we take into consideration the various symbolic and ethical contents of its tradition which have accompanied human progress since immemorial time. The idea and the spirit that animate this Institution came to us from the Medieval Corporations, which were heirs of the mysterious Mediterranean Traditions of Egypt and Greece, channeled into the innumerable Western esoteric currents.

Freemasonry is one of the oldest social and initiatory organizations in the world, it has its roots in the traditions of medieval stonemasons who built cathedrals and castles. This is where some of the famous elements of Freemasonry find their roots.

Modern Freemasonry uses constructive analogies to convey, together with its own initiatory method, to its members how to lead a life for the benefit of the communities in which they live.

Women and men from all walks of life can join it with the aim of improving themselves.

Freemasonry is often presented as a secret society, but there is nothing secret about it,  we can rather define it as “CONFIDENTIAL”.

What is then Freemasonry? This is a question that needs to be answered but we certainly know what Freemasonry is not.

Perhaps in this way, we can help you understand.

Some enter Freemasonry thinking they can find help and support and thus reach a position in the profane world that allows them to live comfortably, or even obtain a position of power. And this is not Freemasonry.

Others approach it convinced that they will find the recipe that will allow them to overcome the state of mental depression in which they find themselves at that moment, convinced that Freemasonry can be the real cure-all. And this is not Freemasonry.

Still others, by joining Freemasonry, believe they will find support for a career in politics. And this is not Freemasonry.

Then there are those who, hearing about the initiatory school, think that they can join it to show off their erudition and, at the same time, get pleasure from listening themselves speak. And this is not Freemasonry.
